Apparel illustration operates under a unique and demanding set of constraints: the image must survive reduction to a chest or back print, hold its visual impact across a range of fabric colors, and remain interesting both at a distance of five meters and at arm's length. The Cooldown series responds to these conditions by working with iconography rather than fine detail — images built as clear graphic statements that read as immediate visual propositions from across a room, but contain enough textural layering to reward sustained attention. The visual references move freely between vintage American sportswear graphics, the mark-making traditions of urban street culture, and the compressed iconography of city life.
