A triptych of collage works — found imagery systematically dismantled and rebuilt into visual arguments that could not have been arrived at by any other route.
Three Collage Illustrations operates on the premise that collage is not combination but transformation — that the process of cutting and reassembling found material produces something genuinely new rather than a rearrangement of existing parts. Each of the three works begins with printed ephemera, photographs, and graphic material stripped of its original context and subjected to a new compositional logic. The source material retains traces of its origins, and the friction between those traces and their new configuration is precisely where meaning is generated. These are not assembled images. They are images made from the deliberate wreckage of other images, and what they say could only be said this way.
