A translucent figure drifting against the overwhelming vertical scale of an imagined city — a meditation on solitude within density, and the difficulty of asserting presence against architecture that does not notice you.
Specter of the Urban Abyss places a ghostly, partially resolved figure against the extreme vertical accumulation of metropolitan architecture. The city in this image is not a specific place but a formal condition — overwhelming in scale, indifferent in surface, beautiful only in its total commitment to height and density. Against this, the figure is translucent: uncertain of its own solidity, its edges dissolving into the geometry that surrounds it. The work raises a question that urban experience makes unavoidable: whether presence is a quality one possesses or one must continuously assert — and what happens to identity when the environment is simply too large and too indifferent to register the assertion.
